Laramie County Public Library

I think I’ve said before, that I don’t often get to actually go to the shows that we schedule for our performers, but when they’re nearby I try to get out and be supportive. This time I got to take a trip up to Cheyenne and visit the Laramie County Public Library.
They have a beautiful new building with a wonderful coffee shop at the entrance, and entertaining artwork around the outside of the building. I’m a huge fan of this idea of coffee shops in libraries by the way.

The show itself went really well, though the turnout wasn’t quite as large as we had hoped. The patrons that came out though had a great time, and were a very receptive audience. Everyone had great comments after the show.

I got to chat with Laurel Reuss, their programing librarian for a while, which was really nice. Turns out that Laurel is an artist in her own right and has produced several graphic novels and has an online comic that she does. I’ll try and find the name of it and post it here later. She also does comic book workshops for libraries, so if you’re in this area you might consider bringing her in!

Other updates:
We ARE going to have a booth at the Colorado Library Association meeting in October, and will have a performer showcase at our booth on Friday.

We have added several more new artists, so keep an eye on the website, I hope to have them added sometime next week.

Don’t forget, if you don’t see someone coming to your area, and you would like to have them out, call us and we’ll see what can be arranged!
